Keeping a methodology alive post-conference.

Each year, Gap International hosts The Leveraging Genius Conference, a week-long conference for business executives across all industries to come together with their teams and become immersed in Gap’s Genius Methodology.

The Genius Methodology is simple: We define the thought process that contributed to our biggest past accomplishments and try to tap into that consciousness to constantly perform as our best selves.

Keeping Genius Alive

With the conference, participants are given access to the Genius App, which logs all the work they have done during the conference and allows participants to see the work and thinking of their peers.

Over the years, participants have asked for more ways to continue using this way of thinking after the conference, so we developed Genius Every Day.

Building The Program

With the conference, participants are given access to the Genius App, which logs all the work they have done during the conference and allows participants to see the work and thinking of their peers.

We only had months to design, develop and launch the new program before the 2017 conference. Rather than release a new app, we decided to build on the existing structure of our Genius app.

Enticing Current App Users

Purchasing through the app

Everyone who has participated in the conference has access to the Genius app but they don’t have access to the Genius Every Day program, so to encourage current users of the app to purchase the program, we allowed them to see the stream of the content to encourage curiosity.

Clicking on an asset would show messaging explaining why the content was locked and entice the client to purchase the program.

From there, we move the client through the payment process by providing more detail on the product. Being a consulting firm, we encourage the client to reach out to their consultant to continue the payment process. 

Once they have purchased the program, on first entry they are greeted with a welcome screen to help set the stage.

Creating a Rhythm

Content Struture

The purpose of Genius Every Day is to provide current clients with premium content to keep the Genius competencies and practices alive in their day-to-day. The content was designed to be a “light-touch” so that our busy clients could easily open the app, digest the information and still have it be impactful.

We decided to take a year-long program and break it down week-by-week, to better create an organized flow of content.

Each week would have a series of content:

  1. a video of a Gap consultant introducing the new theme and what it means,
  2. a challenge for the participant to take on, and
  3. an article that adds more insight into the conversation.

Each piece of content includes:

Favorite an asset to promote it in the “by Popularity” filter

 Save or send an asset to other program members
